You’ve been watching and downloading anime since forever. Now we’re giving you MORE than just anime. You can now download movies and TV shows too! And we’re giving you the privilege to download directly from our own server. If you are tired of Sendspace, Megaupload, Mediafire, Rapidshare links, tired of their ads and waiting time, [more...]
READ FULL NEWSGuide to Basic Staff Operations
So you’re staff on anime4psp.net now. Congratulations. You have gained our trust and have been chosen as an elite member of our elite group of elitists. Now you have this cool little bar on the top of your browser whenever you sign it. What do you do now? Well this is a guide that anyone can follow, on how to do staff-y stuff. This guide is assuming:
1. You aren’t a complete idiot. Although I do try to explain things as simply as possible.
2. You’ve already figured out how to convert and upload files. I’ll do a tutorial for this as well if requested. I also assume that you have a basic understanding of the internet/computers.
How to edit pages
One of the main parts of being anime4psp staff is editing pages. With this you can add links to pages, pictures, text, pretty much anything that is required to add to an an existing page. The first thing, after you’re signed in is to click the “edit page” button on your bar (I’ll call it the toolbar).

This will bring you to the very guts of the page you need to edit. It looks like this:

Here is where you will do the editing. I don’t think you need much instruction for very basic tasks such as adding text, but here is some of the harder things:
Hyperlinking
You know when there is a blue link on a page that leads you to somewhere else on the site. Those are hyperlinks. It allows users to click on the link and be directed to wherever you want. First, type any words you want. If it’s a link to an anime file or folder that you’ve uploaded, “download” will do. Highlight the words you typed and press the button that looks like a link while the words are highlighted.

Then you have to put the URL of the page you want to link to in the popup box. Leave title blank.

Congratulations, if done correctly, your link will look like this:

Image embedding
On almost all of the pages on the site, there are pictures of what anime/whatever is on the page. You won’t usually need to replace an image that is already there, but will always need to add an image to a new page, which I will discuss later in the tutorial. But here I’ll explain how to do it.

First, you’ll need to sign up for Photobucket, Imageshack, Tinypic or some image hosting site. I recommend Photobucket. So create an account, upload the image (I assume you can figure that out), and get the DIRECT LINK. It will look like this:
http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m543/AlucardAlive/lovely-complex.jpg
To add the image to the page, go to the edit page and click on the HTML tab.

You’ll come to this page and the tools will change:

Click on where you want the image to be on the page, and click on the “img” tab:

Similar to the hyperlinking, input the DIRECT LINK into the URL bar in the popup

For the description, put the first letters on the name of the anime (e.g. for Lovely Complex put LC). Press OK.
Click back to the visual tab and your image in now embedded into the page! To remove it, just click in front of the image and backspace!
This is mostly all you need to know about editing pages. To finish and save the edit, click the update button on the right side of the page.
Adding new pages
So you have some anime links, all uploaded and ready to go but “Alas”, thinks you, “I have all these great anime/OST links, but a page for the anime/OST isn’t already on the site!” Well don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Times you need to add new pages are when the series/OST/manga you want to add is NOWHERE on the site. It is a completely new addition and this is when you can add it. You can also make a new page for another version of the anime (subbed, dubbed) or a second season of the anime, if it’s separate. DO NOT add a new page if the anime is already on the site! To avoid this, always check for different names of the anime and search for all of the names on our site.
First (I’m going to assume for the rest of the guide that you’re signed in), navigate to “Add new” then “Page” in the toolbar.

You’ll come to a page that should be familiar, but it’s blank instead of filled.

Things to put in the new page:
1. Title. It should be the Japanese title if it is subbed, and the English title if it is dubbed. You can find all of that information about any anime out at http://animenewsnetwork.com/
For SUBBED anime, you don’t need to put anything extra. For DUBBED anime, simply add “(English)” or “(Dubbed)” to the end of the anime name.
2. An image of that captures what the anime is about. Simply Google the anime and click on images, and pick one that looks good. It’s not rocket science. The only thing is, don’t put like a 1920×1080 HD wallpaper. Remember, it has to fit on a PSP. Instructions on how to add the image is in the “how to edit pages” section.
3. A short description of the anime. Use Anime News Network and copy and paste the plot summary. If it explains the entire anime, including the ending, etc., edit it down to a summary. (OST’s do not need a description.)
4. The uploader’s name and link (e.g. “By AlucardAlive: Download”) Instructions to add links are in the “How to edit pages” section. If there are more than 5 separate episodes, PUT IT IN A FOLDER. Individual links are fine for VERY small series and individual OVA’s/specials.
Optional:
1. Some uploaders add extra information such as running time, # of episodes, date of release, etc. This is fine to add.
If you aren’t sure exactly what to put or where to put something, look at other pages on the site as examples.
Finally, once you are done with your page, be sure to add it to the right section. On the right side of the page under “page attributes”, click the scroll-down. For an anime, select “Anime MP4”

For an OST, select OST as the parent page. For manga, select manga. Again, just use common sense.
Select the blue “Publish” button, and your page is then on the site! You can then continue to stare at your newly made page, knowing many others will see it and think, “Damn, this is a good looking page. This guy must have read and followed AlucardAlive’s guide.”
Publishing posts
Posts are the news posts on the front page that you have undoubtedly read before. They appear on the front main page and are used to alert users of when you have added new anime, and direct them to download it. You can be as creative as you want to be with these.
Navigate to your toolbar to “Add new” and then “Post”. It’s almost exactly the same as the “New page” page.

Things to include in a post:
1. A title. I’m sure this is obvious, but still. Make it very short, but include everything you are going to say. Titles like “New anime” are accepted, but I discourage it (What else would anyone post on here?). It’s fine to just include the names of the anime you’ve added (“Naruto and Bleach added/updated”). It’s fun to be witty, try to stand apart from the other posts.
2. A description of what you’ve added. It’s not complicated, just let people know what’s up.
3. LINKS TO THE PAGES OF WHAT YOU’VE ADDED! Making posts that only say “I added blah blah blah” doesn’t really help at all. Put the title of the page and link to the PAGE the anime is on. Look at one of my recent posts or any other uploader’s post as examples.
Once all of that is in there, click publish. Your post is now on the front page, informing everyone of what you want them to know.
Posting submissions
You may or may not have permissions to view and post submissions. If you do, read ahead. If you don’t know, read on ahead as well. All the submissions that non-staff (or any) users post via the “Submit” tab on the site, go here. On the toolbar, click on “Dashboard”. You’ll come to the dashboard and you’ll need to click on “Pages”.

Those are all of the pages on out site. Submissions get posted as drafts, so you need to click on drafts.

These are all of the submissions. From here, you can click on any of the submissions and it will bring you to a page just like editing and adding new pages. It kind of bugs me when people post one single, solitary, unlabeled link, but those are the majority of what we get.

Here you can either
A. Copy and paste the link(s) to an existing page.
or
B. If the anime isn’t on the site, you can simple add the required information (image, description, uploader) and click the handy “Publish” button. . You can view the submitters information at the bottom of the page.

If you have permissions to delete submissions , you can delete the submission when you’re finished copying the links. You don’t need to delete the draft if you click Publish. Simple check the box in front of the submission, click the drop-down and select “move to trash”. Then click apply, and it’s gone!

If you don’t have the permissions to delete, just note the submissions you have been through and ask another staff member to delete it (be sure to say, ”please”!).
How to edit posts and comments
Sometimes you’ll need to edit a post or a comment, to change a couple words or a link. It’s very simple, so I won’t spend much time on it.
Find a post or comment and click the little blue “edit” button.

There is a similar button in the same position for comments, I don’t think it needs a screenshot. Depending on your permissions, you can edit either only your own posts/comments or any posts/comments.
That’s it!
If you’re a new staffer and haven’t received any of the staff file hosting site accounts, either email me (my email is below) or ask one of the other staffers. It’s OK to use your own accounts, but we have plenty of premium accounts for you to upload on.
Well, that was the simple guide to everything staff! If you have any suggestions or requests for anything to add to this guide (or for a new guide), drop me an email at outrage360@gmail.com. There shouldn’t be any more questions about anything in this guide!
